Matt. 18

In this chapter, Jesus spoke about how we should treat fellow believers.  Clearly, the disciples’ competition to be the greatest missed the mark.  We should desire the best for others and leave our own outcomes to God.   To do otherwise is to push those others away from God.  Not good!  Jesus said, “See to it that you don’t despise one of these little ones” (Matt. 18:10a).  Those “little ones” He mentioned are God’s children.  He goes on to say, “…it is not the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones perish.” (Matt. 18:14).  What that means is that when we fail to treat God’s children with the value He gives them, we oppose God Himself.  And God valued them enough to sacrifice His only begotten Son for them.
