Num. 8
This is the second time God, after declaring the Levites His, said, “I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the sons of Israel” (Num. 8:19a). This makes me think about how we, believers in Christ, are God’s gift to His Son. Jesus made reference to this truth when He said, “This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day.” (Jn. 6:39). Just like those Levites, God declares us His. He then gives us to our High Priest so we can serve God together.
Ps. 44
“Rise up, be our help, and redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.” (Ps. 44:26). God saves us, not because of who we are or anything we have done, but because He is good.
SoS. 6
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine…” (SoS 6:3a). This is God’s desire for us. He desires a true, two-way love. He says it over and over again in His Word to us. “You shall be My people, and I will be your God.” (Jer. 30:22).
