Job 28-29
“Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28) This is a Truth that is repeated in Proverbs and possibly other places in the Bible as well. When things are repeated in several places, I figure it pays to pay attention to them!
Matt. 13:1-30
We often wonder why God doesn’t deal with evil and wickedness “quickly” (from our perspective), but the parable of the weeds seems to me to suggest that God leaves them be for the good of those who will be His. Not at all sure how to articulate the thoughts this parable sparks, but it does suggest to me that we won’t necessarily recognize who belongs to God and who belongs to the Evil One, so we shouldn’t try to make that distinction and write anybody off? It is an interesting parable.
