Day 334 – Ez 37-39; 2 Pet 2

Ez. 37-39

Once again, there is much that I don’t understand about all of this prophecy.  But I know the end result.  God will gather all of His people to Himself, and He will be our God and we will be His people.  And through that process He says, “So I will show my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations.  Then they will know that I am the LORD” (Ez 38:23).  God will make Himself indisputably known to the whole world.  There will be no more denying Him or contending with Him.  He will put all of that to rest once and for all.  And woe to those who acknowledge Him too late.

2 Pet. 2

There have always been and will always be those who pervert God’s truth.  These people chase after the “sensual passions of the flesh” (2 Pet 2:18) and try to present their actions as Godly, thus blaspheming the way of truth.  Peter has nothing good to say about such people.  Their unpleasant end is certain.  I think the worst thing about such people, though, is not that they follow after their own corrupt passions, but that they deceive and entice others to go with them.  “They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption” (2 Pet 2:19a).  Peter assures us both that such people will not be spared and that God can and will rescue the Godly.
