So…God sent Manna – the bread of life – to the Israelites while they were in the wilderness of Sin. If that doesn’t paint the picture of Christ, the Bread of Life, who came to us in our sin, I don’t know what does!
Matt. 27: 1-26
The religious leaders of Israel, in typical fashion, once again give more credence to the minutiae of the law than to God’s desire. They are careful not to use the 30 pieces of silver in the Temple treasury because, “It is not lawful….since it is blood money.” All this while condemning somebody to death simply because they are jealous of him and afraid of losing their power with the people – the act that created the “blood money” in the first place. Nice.
