Day 84 – Deut 3-4; Luke 2:25-52

Deut. 3-4

I love this statement from Moses to God in Deut. 3:24 – “O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand.”  Very few men saw God act as much and as mightily as did Moses, yet he recognizes that all that he saw was just the tip of the iceberg; that God is unfathomably great.  How small we tend to make Him!!

”know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.” (Deut 4:39).

Luke 2:25-52

I must be running out of steam because I don’t really have much to say here except for a few vague thoughts – something about the Holy Spirit being “upon” Simeon rather than indwelling him, as He does after Christ’s death and resurrection; something about Simeon’s prophecy that Jesus is God’s “light for revelation to the Gentiles” (vs 32); and something about how Jesus, after staying behind in the temple without telling his parents, returned to Nazareth and “was submissive to them” (vs 51).
