My Daily Scripture Musings Human Nature,Life and Death Day 94 – Deut 30-31; Luke 8:1-25

Day 94 – Deut 30-31; Luke 8:1-25

Deut. 30-31

It seems we humans are wired to choose death.  Adam and Eve chose it in the Garden.  The Israelites chose it after entering into the Promised Land.  So I would say that we have this choice before us every minute of every day and that if we are not very intentional about recognizing this fact, we are inclined to move toward choosing death.  I don’t know why we are wired that way, but it is certainly an argument for staying in God’s word consistently and for being constantly conscious of His presence. This is something He encourages His people to do over and over in His Word.  And I have seen this in my own life, as well. If I am not actively seeking to be with and know God, my decision making deteriorates.  Lord, help me to be intentional every day!

Luke 8:1-25

In the first three verses of Luke 8 is what I think may be the only mention of how Jesus and His apostles were cared for throughout their ministry.  It was the women.  It notes a group of them who had been touched by Him in some way or another and says that these women provided for them out of their means.  I’m not sure why this strikes me, but it does.
